Neo-Japanese Oni ♥ 0

Horror > Neo-Japanese Oni

Neo-Japanese takes the classic Japanese toolkit — bold contour, flat color fields, wind and water moving behind the subject — and loosens it with modern line weight and color choices. Bold drawing is the most forgiving kind of tattoo: it sits happily on an upper arm, thigh, calf, chest or back, and it scales from a palm-sized piece to a full panel without losing its punch.

"Neo-Japanese Oni" is an original design drawn in a neo-Japanese hand, and it knows exactly what it is about. Dark subjects are a gift to a tattoo artist: bone, shadow and negative space give them the strongest contrasts in the craft to work with. It sits in the Horror > Neo-Japanese Oni shelf of the gallery, alongside the rest of the studio's original catalog.

What you are buying is the working pair: full-color finished art plus the clean linework stencil your artist will transfer to skin. The preview here is linework only by design — the color version is delivered privately after purchase. Like it but need it changed — colors swapped, an element added, sized for a specific spot? That is what the custom-variation order is for: the same drawing, reworked by an artist around your notes.
