Dotwork Jellyfish ♥ 1

Nautical / Ocean > Jellyfish

Start with the drawing itself: "Dotwork Jellyfish", worked in dotwork, composed around one clear focal point that reads the moment you see it. Animals carry their meaning without a word of lettering — posture, eye and silhouette do all the talking, which is why the drawing spends its effort there. It was drawn by Site Administrator, one of the independent artists selling original work through Tattoo Art Customs.

The purchase delivers the complete working set: the full-color original and its matching clean linework, ready to hand to your artist. Only the linework is ever shown publicly — buyers get the color, everyone else gets the outline. Like it but need it changed — colors swapped, an element added, sized for a specific spot? That is what the custom-variation order is for: the same drawing, reworked by an artist around your notes.

Dotwork rewards patience: the design is mapped as a field of points, and the image only resolves when you step back from it. Plan placement with the line weight in mind: skin that moves and stretches less — forearm, calf, shoulder blade — keeps delicate lines crisp longest, and going a touch larger than you first pictured almost always pays off.

Tattooing notes: Dotwork

Placement: Soft stippled gradients forgive curvature — arms, calves, thighs, shoulders and backs all work. Hands and feet blur the fine grain fastest.

Size: Gradients need room to stay grainy instead of merging into grey: three inches minimum for simple work, five and up for detailed stippled scenes.

How it ages: One of the gentlest-aging styles: dots soften into the gradient rather than losing detail. Sparse fine fields may want a refresh after some years.
