"Bonsai" is an original design drawn in a blackwork hand, and it knows exactly what it is about. Botanical drawing is really drawing about movement — petals and stems give an artist natural lines to sweep across the skin, and this composition uses them. It was drawn by Site Administrator, one of the independent artists selling original work through Tattoo Art Customs.

The gallery only ever shows the linework preview, so the finished color stays the buyer's. The drawing leans on bold silhouettes and deliberate negative space — it reads from across the room, not just up close. This is work built to be read from across the room, and it holds that read for decades — upper arm, thigh and calf are the classic homes for it, and it wraps a limb beautifully.

Size: Scales from a small bold symbol to a full sleeve. Fine dot texture and thin skin-colored gaps need extra room — black spreads slightly as it ages.

How it ages: The lowest-maintenance style: solid black is forever. Edges soften a little and hairline negative-space detail can narrow over the years.
