Smoke Patterns 2 ♥ 0

smokerestored

Some designs are decoration. "Smoke Patterns 2" is a composition — subject first, structure underneath, detail where it pays. Fire and smoke are movement studies — the drawing has to suggest something that never sits still, using licking negative space and curling line. It sits in the smoke shelf of the gallery, alongside the rest of the studio's original catalog.

It is drawn tattoo-first rather than illustration-first: shapes are kept honest at real tattoo sizes, and the linework is planned as a stencil, not just a picture. Talk placement over with your artist before you commit to a spot — the drawing scales well, and the right move is matching its proportions to the body part so the focal point lands where your eye wants it.

It ships as linework only, which is a feature, not a shortage: the stencil is the finished drawing, and your artist can take it in black, in black and grey, or into full color — three different tattoos waiting inside the same clean lines. And if it is almost right — a name worked in, different flowers, the composition flipped to fit the other arm — order it as a custom variation and an artist will redraw it to your notes.
