Ghost Box — Spirit Radio — Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 25, 2026

Who we are

Ghost Box — Spirit Radio (Android app com.usefulappz.ghostbox) is developed by Usefulappz™ (Mike Kelley). Contact: mikekelleyii.mk2@gmail.com

The short version

Ghost Box requests zero permissions — including no microphone and no internet permission at all — so the app is technically incapable of recording you or sending your data anywhere. No accounts, no server, no ads SDK, no analytics, no tracking. Everything happens on your device.

How the app works

• All sound is generated on your device — synthesized static swept through a filter, in the style of a spirit-box radio sweep. The app never listens to you or to the room: it has no microphone permission and records nothing.
• The words that surface during a sweep are random picks from a word bank built into the app, played over the generated static. Ghost Box is an entertainment novelty, and it says so in the app.
• The timestamped session log is kept on your device only, so you can look back at your own session. It is never transmitted anywhere.

What the app stores

Nothing of yours is collected or kept by us. Anything the app keeps (such as your session log) lives in the app on your own device; uninstalling the app erases it.

Permissions, and why

• None. Ghost Box requests no Android permissions — no microphone, no location, no storage access beyond its own private space.
• Internet: NOT requested. The app cannot connect to the internet.

Ads

This version contains no advertising SDK. A labeled placeholder space is reserved in the app for a possible future version; it collects nothing. If an ad-supported build ever ships, this policy and the app's Google Play declarations will be updated first.

Children

Ghost Box is a general-audience entertainment novelty with a mild spooky theme. It is not directed at children under 13, and it collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date.
